The world is a game

Kids in South Africa playing a weekend match on a bumpy pitch. Just like Brazil.

  1. In a text I set my students about football, it said that the best world players of the last 50 years came from deprived low income areas of the world. Perhaps it is because it is the most simplest game to play, just two goals and a ball.

    • Is that true? I wouldn’t be surprised. Necessity being the mother of invention, sometimes the best way out of poverty is sport. That’s also unfortunate, in a way, because not a lot of people make it in sport – exacerbating the plight of the ghettos of the world. I agree it is simple to play, anywhere and at any time.
