U-shaped apple tree

This must be trained to grow this way. It’s a Baldwin Apple, and everywhere I’ve looked online it just looks like a giant bush. They put this one up against the brick wall and helped it grow in a pattern that made it really cool to look at straight on. The tree was cut down just beneath the top of the wall, and the branches were about as symmetrical as possible. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a Baldwin Apple.
