Corner windows to the tower, to the street

I found myself at an intersection I don’t normally visit seeing the sky and the road in two different directions. I decided this would make a different look, and zoomed out as far as I could. The result is quite distorted – you can see the warping of the metal framework overhead. Usually I’ll fix this sort of thing, but this time I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I wanted as much of the frame in frame. These weird glimpses of the city are very fun to stumble upon.

  1. I really like this image, Nev….. The light plays a big part, of course, the direct light defining the forms and the reflected light bringing out the details you might not ordinarily see. The under structure visible here brings out the mechanistic foundations of city life….a city is a machine for living…..and the scale has drama emphasised by the masses of dark tone. This is a beautifully controlled HDR.

    • Thanks, John. Deep down I feel I could have done quite a bit more with it, but the rule of posting one photo per day here is a rule that’s not meant to be broken. I was happy with it despite some things I wish I’d had time to do differently. I’m glad you like it.
