Eight lanes south

There’s a weird energy you get off the pavement below when looking back at downtown Chicago from the south at one of the many Dan Ryan cross-bridges. Everything is in motion, but the repetitive passing cars get static after a while like only the light is in motion. Eight lanes sprint south and north in either direction, becoming a blur if you stare. I guess the cage separates jumpers, bricks and rocks from cars?
